Exposition: Victor, 9, is in his room trying sleep. His parents have hosted a new years party. Everyone on the reservation has come, keeping Victor awake.
Rising Action: Victor's uncles begin to fight. Victor watches them from the window of his room. He reminisces about his Native American history.
Climax: Victor thinks about his family. Specifically how his parents are struggling with life. He feels crushed by his history and his parents.
Falling Action: Victor, unable to cope with his thoughts, gets out of bed and looks for his parents.
Resolution: Victor gets into bead with his parents, pitying them. He forgets his problems, and falls asleep.
